I’m an award-winning professional illustrator with over 20 years of experience. In these lessons I will teach you how to create your own original illustrations and apply them to everything from t-shirts to totes.

This month, we are drawing patterns! 

For the workshop, you just need a pencil, pen, eraser, and any paper you have lying around—something to add colour if you want. During the workshop, we’ll just be drawing on paper. While you practice your drawings, I’ll explain how to apply your illustrations to all kinds of things with Posca markers, Sharpies or most permanent markers. You don’t need the markers for the workshop. After the workshop, I’ll send you in-depth tutorials and tips on how to use your illustration skills to customize anything from totes to t-shirts and lots more.

Illustration lessons for everyone! From those who haven’t drawn a stick figure since school to profesh AF. No skills are needed. Kids welcome.  My illustration lessons are judgement-free zones designed to help you overcome your fears and mental blocks and teach you how to think creatively, illustrate your ideas and find your very own style.

I can’t afford to spend hours on Third Thursday admin without upping the cost, and I really want to offer something that is accessible to most people.

Please be ready at 18h00. When you make your purchase, you’ll receive an email with the link from hello@karenvermeulen.com. Check your spam folder if you can’t find your link. If you really can’t find it, please contact me with the name you booked under, and I will make sure you get it.

If you’re having trouble purchasing your ticket online, please let me know. If it’s last minute, it is 5 to 18h00 on the day. Please Whatsapp, as that is more likely to get my attention and get you on Zoom on time. My nr is +27 60 850 8206. This is for illustration emergencies only. 

I can’t guarantee that I will be able to sort you out if it is at the very last minute. I don’t have an assistant, I will try to check and do my best, but ideally if you can if you have any issues, please let me know asap and please try and buy your ticket not too last minute in case something goes wrong and then I can’t help.

Every person who joins needs their own ticket. In other words, if two people share a computer, both will need a ticket. Kids under 12 and pets can join for free. If your pet joins, please show me your pet.

The video replays are yours to keep and enjoy, but please don’t share them; they are for ticket holders only. Also, don’t upload them on any platform or use them for teaching purposes or anything else without my permission. This workshop, my illustrations, and the videos are my original work, copyrighted by me, and any illegal use, distribution, or copying of my work will result in legal action.

No refunds or exchanges. If you miss a class and/or a replay download, you won’t be able to join a future class for free. If I, for some reason, have to cancel or postpone, I will make sure you join a future class of the same value, or you can use your R75 as a discount towards any of my other courses, workshops, private lessons or consultations.

Please check your inbox before the lesson. If I have to cancel or postpone for some reason, I’ll send an email and let you know. Up until now, I’ve never had to, but you never know. Life happens sometimes.
