This morning I was lying in bed in a hostel in Guatemala, looking at photos of crowds of South Africans gathering in protest. Whilst I would’ve like to be there too, what is interesting about watching it unfold from Guatemala is that in September this year the Guatemalan president and vice president were jailed for corruption, which goes to show that people taking a stand against corruption can have an effect.
I’ve travelled a fair amount and while many of the countries I’ve visited have gotten under my skin South Africa is home. It’s a beautiful, unique, crazy place that I love. And it deserves a leader that cares about the country and its people. #zumamustfall
