My culinary tour of Texas!

a culinary tour of Texas

My time in the USA is almost up and I’ve tasted some pretty good stuff whilst here. I’m surprised I’m not rolling out of Texas, because the food here is tasty, but not particularly healthy, almost everything comes deep fried…including pickles! I was dubious about that I must say, but I’m a convert, it’s soooo gooood. Other Texan culinary highlights include the burger at Hopdoddy’s in Austin, the Blackberry cobbler from Saltlick just outside Austin, and the bacon in general.

I love eating local whilst travelling and discovering the native treats, for me it’s one of the best things about travelling and I’d rather sit in cafe’s and restaurants eating and people watching than traipse around touristy landmarks, which is why I think I should write a travel guide that tells you what to eat where, so if any publishers are reading this I’m your girl, I’d happily draw and eat my way around almost any country. Although I’m not an adventurous eater, you won’t find me eating scorpions or llamas just because it’s the local delicacy. I have eaten some odd things in the past like a mopani worm, a cricket and a chicken foot – I don’t recommend it.

Tell me in the comments whats the best or weirdest thing you’ve eaten on your travels and you could win a drawing of you eating it! The winner will be announced on the 12th of October.
